I have a 14 month old airedale with unlimited energy. He must be constantly watched whenever outside his crate. Nothing is safe on the counters. Chased a roll of toilet around the back yard yesterday. How can I teach him to stay off the counters? And he is all teeth. Can I stop him from biting everything?
Sound like a good candidate for obedience training. As for the counters, try stacking empty soda (pop) cans on the counter. attach a string to the lower ones with something interesting on the other end of the string. he'll pull the cans over and the racket will either startle him or at least let you know soon enough for a correction. Also try setting mouse traps on the counter. They aren't big enough to hurt an Airedale.
