Looking for a reputable breeder for a South African Boerboel. Been studying the breed for months and can't seem to pull myself away from Ed and Leerburg. So much information that will help me train a dog with positive training. Figured someone would know of a breeder, any help is appreciated, thanks.

Tim if you let me know where abouts you are I will pm you your local BB club/registry who can give you a ton of info and advice, I am UK based and the registry here is still quite small but with the exception of a few countries where the BB is a banned breed, there are a few great places who will give you an HONEST appraisal of the breed.
Some breeders are less ethical than others and the breed is not without some specific health problems in some lines; couple of places you could google is SABT or EBBASA.
If you would like me to point you in the direction of reputable breeders and experienced owners in your neck of the woods, I can pm you with that information.
Thanks for your help. I am in Wilmington, Delaware, East Coast. As I stated in my original I have been looking at this breed for some time now. I have had 3 pit bulls with my last having to put down last January due to stomach cancer. The hardest thing I had to do. She was without a doubt the best dog I have ever had, her name was Angel and what an Angel she truly was. I have been looking at all the different Boerboel breeder sites and they all say they,re the best. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is definitely a breed I feel comfortable with and with the Leerburg training techniques I can't lose.

Ok, leave it with me and I will ask the relevant people for some info in your area, up until recently I had 3 Boerboels, the 2 I have now are fantastic, delightful thugs who have settled down at the age of 3 into relatively predictable temperements; sadly, as I said already, there is some unscrupulous breeding going on out there which is producing some unsound pups, physically and mentally, which is a damn shame because they are about as far removed from the original foundation dogs as they can get.
Anyway, I will ask the question today and get back to you soon as I hear.

“Ask Tim to contact me, I live about an hr away from him (not a breeder) but can give him email addys and keep him posted about events in the area so he can come out and meet some of the dogs and ask questions about certain breeders, also I only know of 1 person on the east coast that actively works BB's in protection, he would enjoy a visit with her dogs as well “
