This is a video of an Akita in the middle stages of bloat. He had just arrived in his new home and they were taking video of him. The new owners had no idea what they were looking at, and as soon as they realized something was very wrong, they took him to the vet. The dog did survive and is fine now.
Most people that have never seen bloat don't know what they are looking at when their dog is showing early signs. I hope this video helps someone recognize the early signs and get their dog to a vet.

OMG that poor Akita, glad he's ok...and that bag yuck, poor old guy. My 1st dog (chow/setter) ate this giant pie (not kidding GIANT) that was mistakenly left out by my mom. She looked like a wild dog who had gorged on a kill. Fortunately she didn't didn't have GDV, her only distress was being extremely stuffed and diarrhea for the next 3 days. I did know what bloat was and watched her for signs of distress or trying to vomit. I was a teen and my parents took it lightly (ignorance). Any signs of abdominal distress should not be taken lightly ever. They can go downhill very quickly...its very serious.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
