Ok, so try not to laugh too hard (chuckles and giggles are ok, I guess).
So, I have this little dog. Ok, ok, ok - Paige is a toy poodle. Not exactly a working type dog, but (if I have to admit to it, I will) I like her. She's a neat little thing - smart as she can be.
So, to practice my technigue for the 'real' dogs, I have been trying new training things on her. Turns out, she's one of the easiest to train dogs I've ever had.
Question, can a toy poodle earn a working title, ie: tracking or even something like a BH? I know she won't ever get to try for a Sch title (although, she'd be willing to try if we could find a short enough helper...). Or, would I just be laughed off the field and banned from all sport dog events?
I like the idea of showing people in my neck of the woods that toy dogs are not the miserable big dog snacks many out here end up being and that they can be trained and useful - or at least, pleasant.
There have been quirky SchH handlers that have taken great joy in making SchH Judges twitch by doing a WH on various 15 lb. dogs......*great* fun to watch!
I wonder what color bow she should wear for a trial?
(I'm thinking pink since I have some new nail polish I've been wanting to try on her. That way, she'll be color coordinated)
