Man, I can't believe I did that!!! I wrote "to" instead of "too"!!! That's one of my pet peeves. (Taking deep cleansing breath)...Oh well, that's the way it goes sometimes.
I tried telling her that this morning. I may have gotten through. Her last comment was that they probably would be good pets with some work. My own personel choice before the offer, was originally to wait for someone like Ed or Todd to evaluate one of their pups for my next dog. Being out of work the last six months, that will have to wait a little longer. It will be worth the wait. Wev'e got some VERY nice dogs on the team and I definately don't want to bring the standards down.
I think you're wise to wait. Not because I think you have to have a purebred dog with a stellar pedigree to have a good SAR dog. You can find mutts at the pound with good potential. The situation you've described just raises too many red flags to me, and I don't think you'll be happy with it. Not a good way to start a working relationship with a dog.
Yep! I've had some tremendous dogs in my 57 years. I'm going to the moon with the next one. The last 25 yrs have been with terriers but a few were geat WORKING terriers. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
