Got asked to help with a really big pit bull or junior mastiff, the lineage is not clear to me but it is a big, strong dog.
He dominates the other two dogs in the house and they have had some serious altercations.
I slapped a good dog collar on him, and within about ten minutes he was acting like a mannerly dog should, so he knows how he is supposed to act.
One thing I told the woman to not let the dog sleep with her and her husband in their bed because, in my opinion, no dog on the bed is a good rule. And also I told her it was picking a favorite and creating a hierarchy between dogs that reinforced the issues.
I like the dog and think the issues are human and leadership based.
Thoughts about creating a better environment for a three dog house that will lead to less stress, and more harmony?
As an aside, I have multiple big dogs in the home between my own four and the occasional foster, and for the most part there is little hierarchical issue. 'My way, there is no or' is my mantra.

Yes indeedee. Pinch, prong, good dog, all along the same lines. I Like them more because you aren't the one correcting the dog, often. The dog's actions initiate self-correction.
The idea is to learn how to properly fit and use the collar. If you have a death grip on the leash, you train the dog to ignore the collar, unless you string it up.
Just a pop, and a loose leash, usually.

I work my dog with a professional trainer who works on behavioral issues. Almost without exception, the dogs' issues are the direct result of human behavior and improper/lack of leadership. Two of his main rules are "No sleeping with dogs" and Everything in YOUR life belongs to ME".
