Ya'know, I really like the warm winter, and not having to shovel the driveway every morning but I hate the cycles of coat blowing. I should bale this stuff and make pillows or some thing.
Not a useful post just a gripe about the trials of tribulations of my world.
The dogs are down and resting out of the heat. Lots of available water and shade is the order of the day.

How large can a hair ball be before it has to be considered another household pet? I saw one under the table in the laundry room today that may need its own collar, leash, and rabies shots.
Mine have only just started burrying me in hair. Give me a couple of weeks & I'll have enough hair for a sweater.
I'm crabbing 'cause I have to cut my lawn already tomorrow. It's MARCH in New England & I have to cut my lawn like it was May! CRAZY!!! It's going to be a very long & I think hot summer here.
Logan usually blows his (don't be sick) in early April. It seems to come out all at once almost. His coat looks real dead and then when clumps come out I bath him, blast it out and the rest combed/brushed out and that's most of it.The good thing is, when he sheds, that's it he hardly ever sheds the rest of the year. I end up with a HUGE hairball.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
I feel ya Anne, I have mowed our lawn 4 times already and we are gonna hit the mid-80's this weekend! It won't be long and the dogs will be getting me out of bed before sunrise to get their excercise before it gets really hot.
Interestingly I just recently started trying a new supplement ( cold pressed evening primrose oil) because it is supposed to help ease itching.
Our pollen counts have been through the roof for 2 weeks. It has been working great.
I have noticed they are shedding less. Their coats are shinier too. It has also helped their dry pads.
500 mg's, one gel cap in the morning and one in the evening meal.( must be cold pressed, unrefined)
Along with their salmon/ sardine oil and Vit. E too.
It took about 3 -4 weeks to see the changes in coat, but I am
really happy with what I am seeing.
While it is an omega 6 oil, both Evening Primrose and Borage oils are anti -inflammatory. I think it is also important how it is processed.
Many manufacturers use chemicals to refine and extract the oil, so the cold pressed is what you want to look for. JMO
