Just wanted my 1st post to be a funny one. So here it is. My new GSD puppy who I've had for 3 weeks now( he is 3months old) and I have been doing marker training. I have been doing a lot of calling him (no command) and moving back to "draw" him to me for the reward. The other evening, after playing ball,I was sitting across our fenced yard and I called his name. He looked, and then came barreling at me full speed, right into me!! Just had to laugh and hug him. I'm taking advantage of the young age attachment, for sure. Wonder if it will still work in a month? Love my puppy!!
I've marker trained Logan to touch my hand with his nose a long time ago...he has been doing in consistently for months strait. I don't know where we got mixed up, but his latest thing is to not touch with his nose, but bite instead. Dutchies *shakes head*
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
Welcome to the board, Carol. Sounds like you've got a nice pup. I know most of us here can sympathize with what you're going through. The joys of owning a puppy, especially a large breed puppy, often include lots of bumps and bruises and scratches and bites. I'm looking forward to hearing more about him as he grows up.
Welcome to the forum Carol! Glad you can see the humor in those little moments It definitely makes things enjoyable to laugh and have fun with it. Hope you post some pictures so we can "Awwwe" over your pup!
