Wanted to second the concept of too much food leading to loose stool. I'd consider a trial of 5-6 meals a day of just a few tablespoons each, so that the total volume of food is about 1/2 to 3/4 of what the dog normally eats in a day. See what that does, perhaps over a weekend when it might be convenient.
After that, I'd do Giardia Rx and Panacur. I wouldn't test, I'd just spend the money on the Rx.Unless this is a huge dog, where the Rx is frightfully expensive.
1. Even better. " I'd consider a trial of 5-6 meals a day of just a few tablespoons each, so that the total volume of food is about 1/2 to 3/4 of what the dog normally eats in a day. See what that does, perhaps over a weekend when it might be convenient." Thank you, Betty.
2. This is what my vet does. Especially when you already have the history .... you already know .... she treats, rather than false-negative after false-negative (and the expense of) tests.
The diet trials are worth a shot, IMHO, when the dog isn't in distress and isn't shooting liquid but has borderline normal poops. Dr. Betty should be listened to first, for sure. But for what it's worth, I totally agree.

My vet did the same thing when Kasey had giardia a few years ago. She treated when it first started, and then a year or so later when the symptoms came back, but the test was negative, she just treated again. We haven't had a problem since that second treatment.
Just for the record, I wanted to say that I wasn't advocating switching to raw in the middle of what you're dealing with - I wouldn't do that either. We knew he didn't have any sort of medical thing going by the time we started raw.

Lori, I appreciate your input....I understood what you meant (took it the right way). Feeding raw has been in the back of my mind, but in the future for sure.
SUCCESS!! So far, three solid BMs in a row....It appears I was overfeeding her.
Thank you ALL for your help!!
I reduced the total amount, divided her food into four meals instead of two. Will keep doing this and see if the trend continues. I can tell she feels better! Her stools are smaller, much more compact, and darker.
It's the little things in life that bring happiness-like healthy dog poo.
