"Effects of protein deficiency range from infections to gradually-deforming bones, with a wide variety in between of systems failures."
Generally speaking, I do understand that a raw diet should be adjusted by the dog's body condition and the consistency of the stools, in general - are there any other red-flag issues that should be watched for?
(We are currently using the Leerburg sample diet for 90 lb male, no problems, just looking for education going forward)
Going to see if I can get miz thang to try thk for cats as she won't even eat cooked chicken - apart from that we may have a lost cause in her! Though she did sniff the chicken backs tonite. Thanks!
One of my cats passed away in November, she would have been 20 this month. Always a fussy eater, she loved THK and Stella & Chewy. My 18 & 13 yo cats will eat anything, but I find the premade frozen easy.
You're an awesome cat keeper, those are some great ages - I've lost so many in their middling teens (3 of them) to hyper-thyroid that I would love to see if raw makes a long term difference. Even if not it would be nice to see a good meal going into them.
