My dog Zak has started to get really good at staying by my left side when I walk him. I've started to teach him to sit when I stop, which he's starting to understand. But he often turns to the right and has his nose into my hip. I'm not sure how to help him understand he needs to sit facing forward.
Any suggestions?
I've used a barrier such as a fence to keep my dog from kicking her rear end out. I'm on the dogs right side, the fence is on the dogs left side. She has no choice but to sit straight.
I do the same as Brian to work on longer distances. But... You can start this in the house using a hallway wall or even walking next to the kitchen lower cabinets to start.
