PS
You mentioned Preference as the one that requires meat added in. You're right; it does.
As far as my posts go, I'm almost never thinking or talking about Preference when I mention "THK."
That's a special THK developed for a dog who has a food allergy or sensitivity and needs an unusual meat. So it's made without meat, to be the base of a special diet.
I have to remember to say "except Preference" when saying that THK is balanced as is. (Preference didn't exist when I started using THK, from Leerburg. There were only three recipes.)
The others are all balanced and could actually be used as a complete food (and lots of raw feeders do that when they travel).
But an active healthy dog, as they say about THK on the LB site, "will enjoy some additional cooked meat or raw meat and bones, (please never cooked bones) being added to these foods."
It has been a week now using THK Love with chicken backs. Poops are great logs, not too hard, not too soft.
I hate to mess up the great stooling, but I think it is time to ramp up the raw feeding a notch.
Next addition: gizzards, hearts, boneless chicken thighs? Would I continue to feed the chicken backs and add these muscle meats? Or substitute some of the meat addition with just the MM?
I am also really liking THK and would really like to continue it's use. So with that said, do I continue to use it as the complete meal (adding in the RMB/MM at 1/2 cup per meal) OR would I increase the amount of RMBs/MMs and cut back on THK, using it only as a topping?

But please post back after you read it, OK? Because I'm not trying to avoid answering .... the exact opposite: you should have lots of solid info to help you decide.
