Some of you may have already seen this, I think it's lovely
People tell me that having dogs will stop me doing things, which is true.I haven’t been abroad in years and I don’t spend weekends away, days out revolve around walking or the number of hours the dogs can be left for.
But when I weigh the limits against the bigger picture, I wouldn’t change a thing. Sometimes I would like to get away; I’d like to make a split second decision and leave. But if I didn’t have my dogs I’d worry that I’d run and never come back.
They ground me, give me a home, structure my life and stop that darkness which creeps into your bones and leaves you scared to stand still, scared to be alone, scared of life.
My dogs are the light against the darkness,they are the sea in which my soul sails.
They may stop me doing certain things, but they do not stop ME.

Mine as well. Felt the same way for 26 years about my horse. In all those years there were only a few times that I didn't see him every day. Both of which were when my parents were in their last days.
I don't regret a minute of the time that I spend with my animals or what I may have given up to be with them....they have given me far more then I have given them.
