Can the recommended booster shoot in 3 weeks be disregarded without compromising their immunity?
Yes it can be skipped. Booster do not "boost" anything.
Thank you, Cathy. I'll not plan on their being re-vaccinated for anything for three years then. Exception being mandated rabies vaccination.
I thought that was what I was taking away from the AAHA in print black & white guidelines, but I appreciate confirmation. It wouldn't have been the first time I had gotten something wrong.

For what it's worth, even Rabies can be titer tested--and on all my dogs, the vaccine is effective for much longer than the law mandates.
My vet gives me this option, and at the same time acknowledges that it's technically illegal. But nobody has ever asked to see my dogs' rabies vac certificate. And if I suddenly needed such proof, I could then get the (medically unnecessary) rabies vaccine at the vet's office. But it's never come up.
I do titer tests annually. And only once did the test ever come back with an "unprotective" level on anything. Then the dog got the shot.
I'm not advising others to do this. Just relaying how I and my vet do it.
