In training for flyball we had to figure out which paw Toni preferred so that we had her turning correctly on the box. The best way to figure out "handedness" in a dog is to take it swimming. Throw a toy in the water. When the dog gets to the toy see which way they turn to get back to the shore. The majority of times it will be the same direction, and that is your dog's dominant side.
Toni and Tyra are righties and Drift is a lefty. I haven't tested Cat or Shyner.
I tried the Toy test mentioned in the article and none of my dogs have a dominant side according to that... My dogs are also opposite of the article results with Toni the Righty being more aggressive than Drift the Lefty.... Go figure
