I can see this cutting the learning curve (haha ... get it?) WAY down. .... a very good visual aid.
Now to find those old hulahoops and sell for big money to agility clubs.
Those wire guides have been around for a long time and are easily available, though way more expensive than they should be. Now, hula hoops, that might be an even better idea for dogs to start with, as they are much more easily seen!
I think someone already mentioned staggering the line of poles so you have really two lines of poles and the dog doesn't have to so much weave as just pick his way between the two rows, then you gradually bring the rows together. I've also seen the training method used where you angle every other pole in the opposite direction, outward from the path through, to make it easier for the dog to understand at first, then gradually start standing the poles more upright.
