This reminds me of a debate that arose while discussing leashes in an older thread, a little over a year ago.
Some folks disagreed when I related that the trainer we train with does not allow handlers to slip their wrists through the loop in the leash handle. I think it is sound advice, especially considering what The-resa has gone through.
I agree with you Duannne......I only think its wise to put my thumb through the handle with large dogs to give a correction. Even if a leash doesn't break your hand, just the fact your stuck in it makes you susceptible to being knocked down if the dog lunged when you weren't looking. Anything you can't easily disconnect to it an accident waiting to happen.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
.....and here's what happens when you have a puller and you can't/won't let go in time. It doesn't say if the leash was wrapped around her hand or not.
