I have Border Collies, not GSDs so I'm not too familiar with GSD breeders. But my top rule of thumb when choosing a working dog is not to make color (or coat length, size or ear set in my breed) a major factor in my selection of a dog. The top breeders focus on working ability, not a certain color.
The bi-color is second only to solid black for rarity in breeding. Both the solid black and the bi need a common gene to produce their color.
The sable is the most common color and can reproduce without having a common gene with the dog it's bred to.
Looking for a kennel that is predominantly Bi-color may very well be out there but doubtful if it's a bred for trait as some do with the all black or the all white dogs.....or the red and black saddle backed dogs in the show ring.
Thanks Bob! I figured as much, I meant to ask what are some of the top kennels around the world for working line gsd. I hear the weinbergblick kennel name tossed around a lot. The bi color portion of my question was more out of curiosity , as you stated above there might be a kennel out there that breeds for the specific trait. Thanks for the replies!!!
