That went fine. He ate two backs for breakfast. The two for dinner disappeared quick.
Today he had two for breakfast again, but our electricity was out since last night so we picked up something from the store for him instead of opening up the freezer. I got two chicken breasts with bones and skin. A tiny bit frozen in the thickest part. He wasn't doing very well so I held it a little so he could tear pieces off but after I let go he carried it off and didn't get maybe half of one breast ate. Then he was pretty serious about guarding it even though he was done and wanted to come inside, he didn't want to leave it. He finally came in but didn't actually have much dinner.
It seems to be a mechanics thing at this point. He won't touch the meat with his paws so he can't pull on it with his teeth like he can if I am holding it, so he just chews on the side and eventually gets it all down.
