My favorite and most flashy stupid pet tricks is walking up stairs backwards, and the handstand.
My dog enjoys turning the lights off for me, throwing things away for me, and holding my purse.
We really get creative with walking up things backwards.
Oh by the way! Use caution when teaching dog things like "lights out" "lights on" "close the door".
The power goes straight to my dogs head.
Sometimes i feel like i have a strobe light in here or something. o.o
Freeze some water containing various treats or toys in a container or bucket...put it out in the backyard and watch your dog tire himself out for a while getting the treats out of the block of ice.
I do that in the summer for my Dutch, he loves it.
A tired dog is a good dog, a trained dog is a better dog.
Thanks Connie and Bob, great ideas. Definitely going to get some PVC pipe and start the nose work.
Bob do you need to cap the ends and drill holes in the PVC?
Thanks guys.
It's just used to drop the food through it in order to get it right where you want it. It really doesn't do anything more then save your back with all the bending. That can be a bear when your starting out in tracking because every foot step requires a fingernail size piece of food in it.
K9 NOse Work isn't as strenuous as that but you still need to place small food reward in boxes to begin with.
Lots of good info on K9 Nose Work on Youtube. I'll be starting my second class this coming week with my #2 GSD Trooper.
Oh okay, I see just using the PVC for a tool for placing the food on the ground. I was thinking you were using the PVC with holes drilled in it for the final find for what ever is in side ie. dope or explosives.
