Bob has titled many dogs in multiple venues....tracking, herding,OB, SAR etc. Also titled to a SchH/IPO 3 with using ONLY markers. So I think he more than qualifies as one of our long time trainers with tons of experience here.
duly noted folks. Once again, my apology.
I still see a brand new 9 week old puppy only away from his litter mates 1 week, learning to play a completely new game. And 2 older dogs still getting acclimated to a new puppy. Still think it was pretty good. Wasn't meant to be a formal training session. Just playtime in the morning.
Pleas do shorten the training sessions though. A couple of mins spread out 4-5 times a day will definitely get you a lot farther, faster with pups and marker training.
Stop while they still WANT to keep going.
No need for formal training when markers can make everything a game and please look at any criticism as nothing more then helpful, constructive criticism. That's what Leerburg is all about.
Having fun watching your video's Dennis. Sorry Bobs advice rubbed you the wrong way.. Just remember there are always two sides of the fish bowl or perspective's in communication.. The receaver and the comunicator.. When your communicating online and in text format, without the sound to hear inflection and other Q's we use to communicate in real time.. It's real easy for the receiver of the message to think ole Bob was saying something in a way he didn't mean to come off like.. Just saying you might want to step back and think about it.. Always two sides to the fish bowl.. Sometimes it's the receiver that needs some work, if you get my drift. No offence, Just saying..
Now before you get all riled up and go off on me, thought you might like to see this one.. Got my new boy home on Friday the 15th.. Great minds think alike. Started my own video series for him as well.. And no I hadn't seen yours yet. :-) Like I said great minds think alike. :-)
