K..found some info. As Cindy mentions spinach is high in oxalates. Oxalic acid binds calcium very strongly and will use up as much calcium in the
body as you supply oxalic acid. So, if you feed a lot of bone, it is not a problem, but if your calcium supply is scarce, it could become a
problem.
As well, Oxalic acid if fed too much produces bladder chrystals in dogs that are very
prone to them.
i think what i was looking for was the page on daily rations, which is a link on that page. so, yes, that was the right thing. thanks. i was wanting to double check and make sure i was feeding the right amounts. this is good info, folks. i would just add this to the comments in this thread: if your dogs seem to be craving some wierd things (spinach or leaves from bushes) it might be a good time to re-evaluate their diet and try to determine if they are lacking something. i've heard of dogs eating some pretty wierd stuff and usually there is a reason for it. also be careful that what they are craving doesn't create other problems.

I'll definitely re-evaluate it. As it were, the Spitz (not my GSD) was always nuts about leaves. (I have a post on that) I don't know if this is a nutritional thing .. or more love of leaves (been like that since I got her).
I think that autumn is her favorite season. Well .. we'll see after her first snow (Northern Breed and all).
Since my post, I've given them 3 leaves once every 2 or 3 days. Not every day since I don't remember (its not part of their diet .. more like a treat). So far, no problems I can see.
Spitz will still "sit" and "down" for them.
GSD will still try to take them from the Spitz.
