I posted several days ago about recently getting a Mountain Cur/GSD/"who knows what" puppy (now 11 weeks). I had some questions about resuming my raw feeding routine, and as usual, got some great information.
On another topic, my daughter has a female litter mate and just learned from a vet that her pup has a heart murmur, "4 or 5 on a scale of 1 to 6." Obviously the next step is probably addition testing by a vet specialist.
Anyone with some experience with this ailment?
From the little I've read so far, there's a huge range of possibilities, and more time and testing is necessary to determine the what's ahead.
When my dog was a puppy she also had a heart murmur. My vet suggested a specialist, but also told me that they can "outgrow" the murmur, which is exactly what happened. It was gone by the time she was a year old. Apparently it is somewhat common for puppies. Just my own experience, I'm sure there's a lot more out there.
