I have bought some of the Oma's pride products that I cannot find locally (e.g., green tripe) and have been quite satisified.
She has a long list of people who sell locally for her so I did not have to have an order shipped.
Quality seems fine. If it is convenience for most things that is your call but I can make most of my dog's diet from locally purchased ingredients for a whole lot less but I don't grind....
The breeder we bought our 5 mo. old GSD from had them on Diamond brand adult premium dog food to keep them from gaining so much weight and having joint problems. I am putting him on the Chicken Soup brand and was wondering if I use the large breed variety or the adult food?
I feed chicken soup as well. I love the stuff. I used to be a Eukanuba person. Anyways, for me I follow what connie says. My dogs, pits, usually stop growing in height about ten months old so I switch them after they are a year old. That is just me.

Hi all. I'm new to the forum (joined immediately during the first harrowing night of crate training!) and have since been doing quite a bit of reading on puppy food.
I started my new pup on Innova Puppy a week ago and have had nothing but super soft stool/diarrhea ever since. I probably didn't help matters by adding raw meat and vegtables at the same time...probably should have introduced it gradually or separately and not overloaded the little guy. For the last day I've feed him smaller portions of only rice and kibble hoping to firm up the stool(it hasn't really worked)and am now considering changing to Chicken Soup.

I've read other members here have experienced diarrhea with Innova and Chicken Soup seems to garner a lot of praise. My question is: Should I change to Chicken Soup now and should I buy the adult formula or the puppy formula? Long-term I plan on feeding a mixture of raw and kibble but right now I'd like to just get a handle on the diarrhea.

BTW,my pup is healthy, robust, and active so the diarrhea seems to be more a food problem than ill health. Thank you very much in advance!

I'm currently feeding my pair of GSD's Royal Canin GSD adult and GSD Junior. They also get a side of raw, sometimes meat, meaty bones, heart, tongue etc etc. I did try one of my GSD's on a barf/raw diet...unfortunately it didn't suit him but he does beautifully on a mixed diet of kibble and meaty bones etc. Hence my new pup is fed in the same style.
