I know it's been a week since this happened, but did y'all hear about the SNOW we had in South Texas on the 7th?!?! Last time we had a dusting on my side of town was several years ago minimum.
Very cool and holiday-like. Too bad it barely lasted through the night; I was really hoping for a snow day on Friday (8th) Also glad I did not have to get on the interstate Thursday evening! It was cold enough to start freezing the aerial overpasses and most of the drivers had no clue.
Dixon is apparently too old to enjoy running around in it; Greta was unsure at first but then had a great time rolling about, lol.
I do remember seeing it on the news last week! I was thinking what a novelty that must be for those of you in that part of Texas. It must have been funny to see your dogs' reaction to it.
This was many years ago, but I remember we had decided to go someplace warm for the holidays, so we took an RV trip to the Texas coast. Christmas Eve, we drove from Corpus Christi down to Brownsville -- that's as close as you can get to Mexico, so we figured it would be nice. We woke up Christmas morning to snow falling and already about an inch on the ground!
Like Ariane, we're shoveling out from around six inches of snow over the last couple of days. When that happens, we use the snowblower to make paths in the yard for the dogs. That gives them a place to go potty without having to squat in snow, but it's still hard to make them understand why we can't play ball.
Yes, Ariene, it was 0 here this morning.
I bought my dog a coat for his 8th winter. He wore it the first time this morning. The cattle thought it was a new dog.
I'm looking forward to the light returning. Long nights, it's hard to get motivated to do anything but eat!
