Last night we had a meeting of the GSD bunch for dinner and stories. A bunch of us who were into GSD rescue and now meet periodically for dinner.
Polish diner last evening. Very delicious. As always, abundance.
We had a guest couple who have a GSD kennel in Elbridge, NY, named Chestnut Ridge or Chestnut Ridge Shepherds and Cavaliers. Very nice people, probably additions to the GSD bunch. Always pleasant to add to the group.
One of the GSD bunch likes to go to the kennel and handle the dogs. Kinda like doing rescue work at arms length. Anyway, added an additional dimension to the conversations.
And, I had a chance to discuss the progress of my daughter's GSD puppy Zuzu. Everyone has GSDs, many rescues, and the get togethers provide an opportunity to share experience and brag and bemoan.
Yup, the dinner provided an early reminder of much to be grateful for.
A lot experience in the room, and shared passions.
Just thought I'd post something.

Nice reason for a get together Mike. Names are probably different but I'll bet the food on the wife's Romanian side is pretty similar to Polish food I'm betting. Always great eating.
Great post, Mike. Your group of fellow GSD rescue folks sounds like a very enjoyable way to spend time.
I'm half Polish (Dad's side), but our family didn't really do a lot of the Polish dishes. My mom did learn to make pierogi, though, and hers were the best in the world! I never was able to master them. My other favorite is the stuffed cabbages (I won't attempt the Polish name), though I did discover a great way to make "unstuffed" cabbage that tastes every bit as good but is a whole lot easier to make.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone in the LB extended family!
