Well Thanks for the dosage advices but just one other question. There are glucosamine hidrochloride(i think) and there are glucosamine sulphate which is more suitable for dogs?
Also is it necessary to give with Chondroitin or just glucosamine alone will do for preventive measures. My dogs are having good hips from xray results not too long ago and since they run n jumps alot also on hard surfaces I would feel better doing something rather than nothing.

Walt, you may not want to change your dog's diet but I recently switched my boy's over to Nutro and was told by the rep that it is the only food on the market with glucosamine in it. My dog's have been on it about 3 weeks now, and I already see improvement. JMO
Ed, good point, but when your feeding kibble alone what brand doesn't have fillers and extra crap in it? I've been looking into feeding raw, but I wanted to read up on it and know what I was doing before making some radical change in my dog's diet. I don't know enough about supplements to just start giving my dog new things and making a lab rat out of him.
Supplementation doesn't have to be that hard. Some people just give raw food with no supplements (probably not good enough for working dogs, imo). Start with the basics; vitamin c, glucosamine, a multivitamin and some type of fatty acids (salmon oil, fish meal, etc.) and vitamin e (to help digest the fish oils).
