Yep, There are no recognized KNPV organizations here in the U.S., but there are folks who still dabble in it.
Along with Scott Whigam's group, I think that Bob Dixon up in Maine still holds an interest in KNPV. He has interest in all the Ring type sports.
Heck, Bob is even holding an NVBK Seminar and trial in Aug., 2004
Here's a link to the trial : http://home.adelphia.net/~bdixon1/NVBK_comp.htm
I'm pretty sure that the snow is off the ground in Maine in August, I guess we could ask Deanna about that....

LOL,,Will, I was in Maine( Bar Harbor) this past August( 1st week) and it was downright cold many a day!! Sweats and jackets were a must at night.....Didn't see any snow though! Went sailing in a fog bank and my family and I had on hats coats and raingear and still froze!!But I loved it anyway!
I'm sure Deanna will back me up on this, although her pups had her kind of busy right about then!!
No one ever said life was supposed to be easy, life is what you make of it!!
Yes Will, no snow in August. Weather in Maine is incredibly strange, when it is bad it is really bad, but when it is good there is no place like it!
Poor Jeanette wanted to meet up with me, but my girl had her pups on the 28th of July so I was a little worn out. I do remember having to run a space heater that first week they were here. Of course after she left the state it was hotter than the blazes of heck and I had to put ice bricks in the whelping box to keep everyone happy!!! Since we only get about 2 weeks a year of 'hot' weather (and that means over 75) not too many people have AC.. including businesses!
So, coldish weather is possible, but GOOD weather for dog trialing. Will, you can say how wonderful it is in the south all you want. I lived there for 9 miserable, sweaty, asthma filled years! No thanks.

I lived in Maine for 5 wonderful-frost-bitten-black-fly-chomped years. Got really proficient at tunneling down from the second story window to dig the out the front door in April
I'd give almost anything for a hunk of Prime Rib from JR Maxwell's in Bath!!!!
Do kinda miss the four seasons, though: June, July August, and Winter.
I'll take Florida's seasons any time:
Almost Summer, Summer, Still Summer, Christmas.
Trust me, the mental image is much more humorous than the act I always seemed to draw the short straw. I think I was set up!
I really want to go back up there for a visit. Hopefully for Rod Sparkowich's FR trial in June. Gots to get at that Prime Rib!!!!
