I have a two year old lab and a 9 week old pup. I am trying to keep them seperated as much as possible. The pup comes to work with me everyday and the dogs spend about 1 hr a night together in the house. My question is this...I am not allowed to build an outdoor kennel in my neighborhood but rather than keep the pup crated all the time at the house I would like to let it have the run of the backyard while my lab is in the house. I know that people advocate putting a dog in a kennel if you cannot keep it away from another dog in the house. Does anyone see anything wrong with keeping this dog outside in a secure backyard in moderate weather for 3-4 hours at a time? I know there is another forum for two dog households but I wanted to ask this in the Schutzhund forum because I am trying to raise this pup for the sport. Thanks for any advice.
