i'd like to hear from those experienced with the GS : how do you feel about their suitability for SAR work ( tracking , ground search and avalanche SAR ) ? i am currently working a border collie in those profiles . he is about to be retired and the GS is a breed that has always appealed to me . about their coats , do they need to be hand stripped or can you allow them to grow out to a comfortable length (3-4 inches ) and then shear to maintain ? are there any working lines in the pacific northwest ?
Hi Ian,
If you'd like, e-mail me privately and I can put you in touch with some SAR Schnauzer owners..As well as possibly answer some of your other questions.. DTC@Workingschnauzer.com<br /> D
