Hello All:
I just wanted to know if anyone out there has any info (preferably firsthand) on Ali v. Hilbort either good or bad. He was one of the major influences on the RS/GSN in modern history. What I wanted to know is if there is anyone out there who has worked him or any of his offspring?
I don't know a lot about breeding, but how close is to close for line breeding? Is a 2-3 line breeding on Ali v. Hilbort considered to close? Is there a "range or formula" that breeders try to use when breeding dogs? Is a 2-3 better than say a 3-3 or a 4-5, etc what is the ideal?
I got to see Bronko worked yesterday, as well as a daughter of Bronko. As a non-GSD person it is always exciting to see a really good dog of another breed work. The little female hits so hard, everyone lines the fence to watch her, nobody wants to miss it.
All I can tell you is that both dogs love to work. The female's ob is great. Even at his age Bronko is still looking good, and is just as willing.

Hello:
Whew, thanks for answering. I was beginning to think that this thread wasn't going to get any feedback. Do you know how old the bitch was and who she was out of, etc? Also, I think Bronko is about 8 1/2 or so and you said he looks good, but have you been around him socially? Is he social off the field with people, how is he while on the field work wise? Does he want to please or is he difficult, etc? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brandon
The female is around 4 years old. I'm not sure who the dam is. Both dogs are extremely social and are house dogs.
Bronko is close to 9 years and is going full force. When he is on the field doing ob he is completely focused. When he comes on the field for protection he knows the difference and you can tell he is ready to go. Both dogs are pleasers, and love to work.
We have another lady in our club who is breeding her female to Bronko this spring. Everyone is very excited about the litter in Texas. It sounds like you might be getting a puppy from that litter?
If you like maybe I can put you in touch with my friend Von she owns the Bronko daughter.
