SchH3FH2, I never said that I didn't think that the sable is not dominate. What I said is that I don't think the sable is the most common coat color for working line GSDs.
I believe you, I do. I also don't want to read any of those books. Sounds like work.
So, anybody else have any idea what is the most common GSD color in the working lines?
Don't know what's most common in the working line; but, I can personally say that I have THE MOST BEAUTIFUL SABLE FEMALE LEERBURG GSD 4 month old puppy that ever walked the face of the planet earth
Well, you had me thinking my alzheimer's was kicking in again, VanCamp. Had to go rummaging around to find it, but me thinks this was you... (drumroll, please)
"One other think, I don't think GSD color is a simple thing. You may say that Sable is dominate, but me thinks that is an over simplification."
I didn't say that sable is NOT dominate. I said that it is more complex than that. As in Sable dominate, Black and Tan rec., white dominate, black rec., You know whatever. There seem to be a lot of factors that determine the coat color. What degree of sable, color combinations of sable- brown, grey, red. What degree of Bi-color (how much black), definition of color lines, coat patterns . . . There is a lot of shiznit to look at.
