I'm far from ready to start yet but, in thinking, In my area(St Louis), we are fortunate to have more than one club. My question is, Would it be considered unethical to train with two different clubs. I'm assuming they compete against one another at trials. My reason for doing so would be to get a larger field of expierence from different trainers. Would it be better to just spend time at the different schools, without a dog, and base my decision on who seems more qualified.
This is not an ethical issue - its a dog issue. Your selection of a club needs to be the quality of the helper and training director and then the charachter of the club members as the last issue.
So you go with the best club first and you do not take your dog to another club until he is working properly in the first club. If you bounce around before your dog is ready you only ask for the problems that will come - and they will come.
It is usually best to use a second club as a proofing issue.
