The problem is that the training the vets get is very limited and oversimplified. Vet's say that since I am not trained in animal physiology I cannot safely treat an animal. The thing is, that chinese medicine applied to animals has been a matter of taking the methods used to treat people and then transposing the information as best as possible. This works well, but it is more important to understand chinese medical theory when prescribing chinese medicine than it is to understand detailed animal physiology. It's a different paradigm.
