I'm in the process of deciding between three different established AKC competitive Obedience/Agility trainers. I'm feeling very good about the direction I'm taking. I have absolutely no criticism of Schutzhund, but I decided to go this direction with my pup.
I wan't everyone to understand that I have no ill will toward my prior trainer. They are very good at what they do and recently showed true professionalism by contacting me. PLEASE do not think any ill will toward them - they are very professional and they have been around a long time. I am, in no way, capable of judging any training method. But, I do have the right to decide how my pup will be trained.
If there is no room for AKC Obedience discussion on this Board, I will drop out. However, I have received very good advice on this Board and would like to post my progress as we go along.
Ed, if you don't want AKC obedience on this Board, just say so and I'm history.
How about you continue to post guestions and other topics, but keep the personal updates about your pup and your training decisions to PMs, e-mail. . .or even the General Discussion Area.
Obviously this board has a place for AKC obecience, this post is in it.
What this board does not have a place for is continuing to taunt the board owner and start arguments for no reason.
This thread is closed.
Keep the training areas on the board for posting topics on training.
Send your personal comments to Ed, I'm sure he has a place to file them.
As I stated in the board policy - some people seem to exist to argue. This is not the board for that. Some people think they need to post updates on the training of thier own personal dog or puppy - this is not the board for that. Some people wish to trash the sport of Schutzhund: this is not the board for that. In fact this is not the board to trash any dog sport. Just because a person has an interest in AKC Obedience Competition does not mean they have the right to trash Schutzhund or Schutzhund trainers. AKC obedience training is a great dog sport. I did it 20 years ago and I would like to do it again some day when I have a little more time.
