I will be having 2 dobermanns shipped from France this November. Can anyone ship dogs? What makes you a known shipper? The breeder has never shipped before? Its a flight from Paris to Chicago. The breeder is able to take them to the airport. What else needs done? I have never imported before so this will be a learning experience. Thanks in advance
you may want to check with customs, they may require some paperwork. You will also want to make sure their vacinations are at least 30 days old. Last I checked if they were not, the dog had to be quarentined.

Hello:
I had a dog shipped from Finland last year, it was a pain. Ed was right, call the airlines and see if they will accept the breed of dog and if there are any lay overs or transfers involved. You also need to contact customs as well as the USDA people. Also they will have to have a vet certificate issued in France, and you have to ask about rabies. Usually if the pups are under like 6 months, they are covered if the dam has been inoculated, so the age of the dogs is a factor. Also you need to check on the weather conditions, I know they have restrictions as far as the ground temps go.
Hope this helps,
Brandon
