I have to write a paper on Pack Hierarchy in a Multi Dog Household. I was wondering if you can tell me if I have my facts right. Yes this is cheating, but who'll know. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Just 1 paraghraph of my paper. If I need some correcting I would appreciate it. Please don't jump me if I have this wrong, this is only my 2nd week taking this class and I am just learning.
Problems among multi-dog household owners is the misunderstanding of the pack hierarchy and not supporting it's natural order. A few things that an owner of a multi-dog household can do to help support the dogs natural hierarchy:
Lower the rank of all dogs in the household and ensure your position as the pack leader.
Greet the dominant dog first.
Feed and give treats to the dominant dog first.
Upon arriving home greet the dominant dog first.
Back the dominant dog if there is a fight over anything such as resting place, food, toys.
