Trey,
Narcotic dogs are trained to search and locate "odor". They are trained to locate certain "odors" and then give a trained response.
The 2nd part of the K-9 team (handler) must watch over his/her partner to make sure their K-9 does not get into the narcotic.
When people snort coke, they are actually ingesting some weight of the drug, not "odor".
Ingested drugs to a K-9 can become deadly, unless treated quickly and properly.
Dogs are smarter than people - dogs don't walk around "stoned" as do a lot of stupid people.
i knew the basics of finding based on odor but i was not sure if the dog was trained to back off or not but that stament alone answered my question
"They are trained to locate certain "odors" and then give a trained response."
thanx a lot man <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
