I searched the archives and could not find anything discussing this so I could use some help. I have a bitch that has been nursing a big litter of 12, very successfully. The problem is that at six weeks her milk is not decreasing and if she is away from the litter for more than a few hours she actually will start dripping. I've decreased her food but some suggestions on helping her begin to dry up would be helpful. I was planning on letting her nurse them maybe every 12 hours for a couple of days and then once a day for a couple more.My previous experience has been that the milk is decreasing at this stage and taking the dam away hasn't been hard on her, but his girl is huge! I'm a little worried that she'll get impacted. Thanks.
