Re small dogs and biting: there's a reason vets call Chihuahuas "land sharks!"
On another aspect of dog biting at the vet, I heard something from a vet tech the other day that made me a little sad, as a GSD owner. I took my (German working lines) GSD, Oka, in for some tests, and, as usual, he just stood there and panted happily as they poked and prodded him.
The tech said something to the effect that she was amazed at how calm he was, since they got so many nervous GSDs in their practice. She now understands a little better the difference between an ASD and a GSD <g>, but I wish there were no need to explain the difference.
Another reason for her attitude, I think, is that there are a couple of idiots spewing "white shepherds" all over Santa Cruz county--total spooks.
