I actually offered to quit my DVG membership so that I'd be allowed to show under my SchH USA score books but DVG had no way of allowing that in their rules.

I'm not bashing ScH as a program, but I read in amazement the crap you guys deal with, I don't know how you guys put up with it, Maybe I'll quit ring and try ScH, it must be a blast for people to keep hanging in there with all the BS.

Hmm, sounds like some bad experiences! Will I'm not sure why you had to wait 3 months for a scorebook, however I do know that I was told it's better to submit applications as a group if possible!!?? Did you mail in or fax your entries?? I faxed mine...
You're definitely right about Carole Patterson!!! She does rock!! We were so fortunate to have her as our judge when we trialled for the first time last year! Learned a ton and really felt valued in the sport!
Since I have no interest in supporting an organization that promotes only the GSD (no flack here please, it's the truth!!), I will maintain my DVG membership regardless of occasional paper work issues! At this point, we haven't had any, I'd like to think it's because I'm secretary and stay on top of the details!
Ha Ha!!
I want to get into the dvg or usa but Im not sure if there's even any clubs in my area of virgina. I am a police officer going into K9 so I need as much help and guidance as possible and good helpers.

VanCamp is correct about the helper.
A club has a personality - see if it fits yours.
If the club does protection training on tables - walk away from it and say thanks but not thanks.
Ed Thats what I like about you Ed, NO BOVINE ESCREETMENT! I lived in Charlotte NC for a while and the USA club there was a disaster. The leader basically Worked his dogs first, then sat there and drank himself into a stupper while the rest of us Table Trined our dogs. I had a great female GSD that I thought was ruined by that training method and got out of Schutzund after that! I thank you all for your imput-----I'll be watching the handler!
