Will,
We have a set of forms that our agency standardized which makes keeping track of things easier. My only gripe is that there is not enough room for comments, something I have been meaning to change for a while.
David,
We document things pretty much like your go/no go method. Keeps from muddying the waters. It has also been my experience that a dog is not evicerated in court because of its percieved shortcomings or flaws. I had a defense attorney one time try to make a minor percieved flaw into "Mount Everest" and he ended up in front of a jury looking like HE should have been arrested for animal cruelty. I guess when you have a pretty, loveable GSD sitting next to you at the witness stand its kind of hard of hard to paint the big teddy bear as a monster. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />
Wayne,
Being as you are training a PPD, it is imperative that you keep acurate records to protect youself from civil litigation. My suggestion would be to devise a good record keeping system and then, when you think its good enough, make it more detailed. Getting sued stinks, I know.
