The problem with most Kennels is that they suffer from the general mentality that dogs who display the least bit of character are unnaceptable. That being said - if your(not you personally - just a generaic you) dog is willing to try and eat any and everyone at the drop of a hat - I can understand that they may be feeling like there is an easier way to make a few bucks than by handling satan's pooch.
I would ask for references to a boarding a training facility who specialize in protection dogs because you are likely to find someone who at the very least understands dogs with character and isn't going to be affraid and will likely know how to read and handle what your dog is doing.
Good luck,
Nick
Thank you everyone for your responses. Our problem is that we are in the process of rotating back to the States, so they have to be kennelled for at least 20 days, maybe more, while we look for a home, go on leave, ect. I've got a friend in the DC area who offered to keep them overnight after we land. Then we'll drive to Georgia where I have a kennel lined up (A touch of Home Pet Resort, Warner Robins GA).
I called the owner of a touch of home after the second kennel incident here to let her know and also ask her if she still felt confinent.
She had two questions:
Do you have children and will they bite them? I said yes I have children and of course not! She said then that should be fine, we'll play it by ear.
Now, as to the british kennel here: a couple more revelations:
I didn't think of it then, but the old man that works it (he does the cleaning) was walking around with a cane. Aslan does not like it when people wave things at him and if he raised the cane at him or rattled the kennel cage door then that explains alot of his behavior.
Also, according to the old man's son, it wasn't so much the agrressiveness as much as the impact on customers comming in the barn. And guess who was escorting customers in...the man with the cane.
Spyros,
If the Kennel at Warner Robbins doesn't work out for you, I'm located about 75 mins south of there and I'd be glad to handle your dog for kenneling. We handle and train aggressive dogs with no problem. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
