After retiring my 4 yr old velcro bitch to eating grasshoppers and digging for gophers, this is my "start from scratch" sch pup.
This time I'm doing all the peliminary tug work myself, with the help from Ed's dvd "Getting your dog ready for the helper". I'm following the program; not easy for someone my age to swing a now 50 lb "dog-on-a-tug" off the ground, but it's a-happening! (I'm really pissed they took Bextra off the market)
Thanks for the compliments!
This bitch is now about 6 1/2 months old. Interestingly, the entire litter seemed to look like "minature" shepherds at 5 months!...not like our other gsd's who maintained their puppy look a lot longer.
Here at 4 months, her body looks puppy, but her head already seems to look adult... http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v157/aswmbo/4months.jpg
She is a gray sable; the breeder supposedly held her back as a prospective brood bitch and was hoping the light gray coloring on the legs would get darker. But it didn't and as I was told, breeders don't like the light coloring for fear of fading in the lines. However, the dog has a bi-color black pattern, with toe penciling, black lips, and very dark eyes. Doesn't seem that there should be an issue about insufficient pigment!
Frankly, she could be green for all I care...her temperament is terrific. A bit sharp, but we have one of those in the house already so can I deal with it.
