Hi, been lurking for a while figured it was about time I intoduced myself. I'm a pet groomer (though only work on day a week know, to many carpal tunnel problems) I live in the country, have sheep and work at a wool mill. My shepherd "Aussie" passed away about two years ago. I adopted her when she was retired from schutzhund ( Sch lll ) and retired from their breeding program and I loved her german build (yes she was a german import). She was a great friend & family member. She also helped me with 4-H by doing many demos for the kids and she also traveled all over with me for 4-H, work, business trips etc. Here's a link to my favorite pic of her I took on one of our trips. http://home.centurytel.net/KenSanLu/Aussie%20@%20Mt.%20Rushmore.jpg For many years she was with me 24/7. Unfortunatly it couldn't last forever and she passed away. Boy, I was a wreck for weeks, & I haven't gotten another as somehow I felt like I would be betraying her in some way. Now after haveing several GSDs in my 4-H classes and kids asking me when I'm going to get my next Aussie, I feel like she is telling me it's time to move on so I am starting to look. I know this is going to take time expecially because I'm limited on budget with the farm loan payment and now having to foot my mother in laws care costs, but it's time to start getting to know GSDs again and seeing whats other there. Having Aussie spoiled us, she came to us with a Sch. lll title and my husband loved having a fully trained dog that I just had to keep up with the training with, just wish I would have taken the time and done competative obedience with her as we enjoyed doing that. Hubby liked the fact that he didn't have to worry about me as much when she was with me too. I have shown dogs too, showing Shiba Inu, and helping with Gordon Setters, St. Poodles, and Helping with Corgi now. Our daughter in into Dachshund.....why I'm not sure but that's her choice. I can still remember her playing with Aussie for hours and trying to learn the word for Aussie to release the ball. I can still see her reaction when she finally got it right. She was little then, now she's getting taller than me, how time flies. My husband works at a vet clinic taking care of boarding pets. Works great for vet visits as we get what we need for cost and don't need an appointment. Anyway looking forward to chatting with and getting to know many of you as I start my search for my new buddy/family member/travel companion.
Well, that blows my recent post where I stated " and I bet none of you have sheep in your backyard either" all to h*ll.

Holy cow, wish I had some sheep in my backyard (no mowing and organic fertilizer), my Kirschental girl would love it!
Welcome to the board!
