We have a 6 month old (actually about 6 1/2 months) australian shepherd / rottie mix (we think he has rottie but not sure). He is a very aggressive chewer!
I was wondering if you guys can refer me to some strong chew toys for aggressive chewers. We have a few jolly balls (one with the ball within the ball (Leerburg calls it a "teaser ball") and the jolly ball (called a Tug n Toss) that has a handle on the end (kinda of a loop). He is destroying the Tug n Toss...it is only taking of few days. The Teaser ball is nice but he can't really chew on it..although he does play with it. And we have several rope toys for his to chew on.
I am looking for some chew toys to leave in his kennel outside while we can't watch him. Any other ideas?
A large, black Kong? I think they call it the Ultra Kong. They're really tough, but keep an eye on the toy for signs of excessive wear and tear. Even though they were built for chewing, as been already said a determined dog can get through almost anything!
Yea, he has a few nylabone's but he is much more interested in chewing toys rather than bones (ie..the rope tugs and so forth). He also has two kongs and he doesn't chew on either of them. LOL I think he may be so used to get treats out of them that he doesn't chew on them..who knows.
