So earlier this evening I went into one of the rooms in my house where the lights are broken with a powerful flashlight to find something in the closet, my dog was very amused at the shadows and such on the floor n was trying to figure out what all they were. So I find what I was looking for - an old palm PC from the late 80's (anybody remember the Atari Portfolio?) - I sat down to use it under the desk lamp (no backlight) and my dog started pawing at the wall and trying to bite the wall where the screen was reflecting, then he started barking at it - now even after I've closed the screen n the reflection is gone, he's still standing there barking at where it was - his tail up high and wagging with a high pitched bark, I swear he's barking at the shadow of his tail wagging too.
Is this normal? I know he goes NUTS over lazer pointer dots - I don't use it with him around simply because he will literally spend 30 minutes looking for the stupid red dot once you stop using it - but now I can't even play with the Atari because he's scratching up the wall pawing at that stupid reflection.
What do I do about my dog?
And also ... if a police k9 tries to attack me - should I just point a lazer pointer at the ground and laugh at the dog chasing the red dot? lol.
(joke) Sounds like Cujo is living up to his name... <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" />
Mike, be careful of that. What your describing can be the beginning of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder). When My grandkids come over, I have to hide flashlights or they will drive my JRT almost to exhaustion. It's funny at first. Then it got hard to watch when I realized how it obsessed/possessed my dog.

Yes........if you see the episode of The Dog Whisperer with the dog obsessed by that, you'll never let anyone do it........
I got real mad at my older brother when he first met Cujo and discovered the lazer pointer reaction because he wouldn't stop doing it. I've never done it since, but occasionally my dog catches a glimpse of a watch reflection or something n he'll chase it - right now he's still sitting at the wall staring at where the screen was reflecting n it's driving me nuts, it's been 10 minutes since I put away the stupid computer.
