I have a four month old doberman. I also have a cat. My pup is always after the cat. If the cat jumps off her cat tower he comes to attention and is chasing her. He does not bite her or show agression, he just wants to get her. If she goes somewhere where he can not get her like the window sill, he will sit and bark at her until she comes down. What can I do to control this? I am training him for schutzhund. I recently purchased the DVD "How to Raise a Working Puppy" and have put up a previous post about crate training him. Any advice will be appreciated.
Well, I just found your article on introducing dogs to cats. I obviously did the wrong thing by not introducing him properly. Since he has not been in a crate and has been allowed to roam freely with the cat, what options do I have? Can I begin to use a prong collar on him at this young of an age? Once I do begin crating him, am I going to have problems with him and the cat?
