Good evening gentlemen. I just came home from work and will try to respond to most of the points you brought up instead addressing every individual post. I hope you understand. The pup is a Hybrid and is from Screaming Eagle/Bama boy on top and Hines/Suregrip and a touch of Azlan on the bottom. This was definitely an experimental breeding and I like what I see so far for the most part with the exeption of not enough boldness with certain environmental things. What impresses me most is the mouth and drive in this pup. He also has great structure. I may be expecting a little too much and I will admitt that I have been influenced by herder puppies I have seen and ever since that happened I have been looking for those qualities in bulldogs. I have seen some bulldogs that are as good if not better than good herders but they are few and far in between. The parents to this dog do go back to some titled and OFAD dogs but are not themselves. The mother had her hips exrayed by my vet and he also asseses hips for local police agencies so I'm pretty comfortable. The father is a screaming Eagle/bama boy dog and I don't need to x-ray him although some may disagree but thats just my opinion. I have worked some of the grandparents and all I can say is awesome and scary. The biggest problem with this breed is nerve and consistancy again based on my experience. I'am planning to add a lot more SureGrip blood to my stuff in the near future and also have a mal puppy that I am waiting on. It should be interesting as that will be my first one. Andre its interesting that you had so much luck with Screaming Eagle because I know a few people that didn't.
Regards Alex
I don't think luck was involved...the original breeding pair were bought as adults, more than 10 years ago, and were tested. The male, a Jack Frost son. Another male, also from Jack was imported as a pup. Mark Oathout had him. This pup was very tough. From then 'til now, only the tougher ones were kept past puppy hood.
A bitch was imported more recently...to open the line up a bit...she didn't have a tenth of the power the original pair had.
To give you an idea...over sixty pups have been born and only 10 or 15 were kept...a few are or were very, very good. The rest were very good.
So Andres what dog do you think is instrumental in the Screaming Eagle line in producing strong dogs. Is it Jack Frost? I know a guy named Henry Torres in Miami and he had been working with this line for years and also got his dogs from Ralph G. He had better experience with inbreeding on Terminator than Jack Frost. Have you had any Terminator stuff? I have a bitch that is a grandaughter to Whales who is out of Coma boy x Rowdy girl and on the bottom out of Rip a Rella Jack Frost x Matlock's Sasha. I also have a male who is a grandson to Whales and Rip a Rella. Are you familiar with any of those dogs?
