Before my German Shepherd male puppy is old enough to leave the litter I wanted to make sure that not only was he ready for his new home with me, but that I was ready for him as well. The instructional DVD "Your Puppy 8 Weeks to 8 Months," produced by Ed Frawley and available on this website provides an excellent outline for raising a puppy.
I found the DVD well organized into various chapters of concern and of good production value. Futhermore, the DVD menu is easy to navigate and the sound quality of Dolby Digital is a nice touch. The use of visual demonstration combined with simple to understand terms throughout made it easy to learn from and fun to watch.
Perhaps, the greatest value in watching this DVD was being able to confirm the good information from various books I have read and dispell some poor advice I have received from well intentioned people. I plan on ordering future DVDs from Leerburg after I have taken possession of my puppy.

Totally agree. This was one of the first of many videos that I bought. Incredible video. Don't have the DVD yet, I am about to trade in a lot of the stuff that I have on VHS. Looking forward to watching it again since I am about to get a new pup.
this is another of those I have memorized...just watching over and over, trying to not simply gain the didactic, but building (or strengthening) my instinct. I think that there are so many little things that the professionals do right, that constant repetition of learning is necessary. The DVD chapters are sooo helpful.

I'm with you, Peter. But it sounds like I'd better trade my VHS in for a DVD. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
